Rockstar Games is laying down the law. As the launch of GTA 6 gets closer, the studio has decided to tighten its legal guidelines regarding fan-made modifications. Right in the studio's crosshairs are unofficial game ports onto unauthorized platforms. The company is specifically calling out projects that bring games like GTA V to systems like the Nintendo Switch, explicitly labeling them as unauthorized builds. While mass takedowns haven't been confirmed as imminent yet, the warning shot has clearly been fired. Rockstar wants full control over its key intellectual properties before we head back to Vice City. If you plan on modding their next title, you'll need to play strictly by their rules.
