Zelda: Ocarina of Time vs GTA 6 in November? What's actually known

31 July 2026
The idea is doing the rounds: Nintendo would release a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time a few days before GTA 6, to steal its thunder. The unlikely showdown of the year. Except: pump the brakes. Nintendo has announced no date for this remake — and hasn't clearly confirmed the project at all. The "November" window comes from fan speculation, sparked by an amiibo listing spotted online. In other words: nothing official, a thin clue, and a conclusion drawn a little too fast. And even if it happened? The two games aren't chasing the same player at the same moment. A Nintendo remake and a GTA don't really fight over the same wallet: plenty of people will buy both, or buy them at different times. "Nintendo challenges Rockstar" is a great headline, not necessarily good analysis. Our take: worth watching, but until Nintendo puts a date on it, treat this duel for what it is — a fan hypothesis, not a declared commercial war.
