Jason, Lucia, Leonida: the story so far, before you dive in

For the first time in a GTA, you'll play a duo: Jason and Lucia. Two criminals, bound together, whose relationship is the stated heart of the story — Rockstar has invited the Bonnie and Clyde comparison without ever using the words. Lucia is the first playable female protagonist in the main series. That's not a marketing footnote: it changes how the narrative is built, and it was confirmed from the very first trailer. The setting is the state of Leonida, a barely disguised Florida, and its big city: Vice City. Twenty-four years after the Vice City of 2002, we're going back — but into a modern world of social feeds, vertical video and crimes filmed on phones. That's where the game's satire lives. What we don't know is a lot: the mission structure, how the duo really works in gameplay, the scale of the map outside Vice City. Be sceptical of anything you read between now and November claiming to be "the full GTA 6 story". Rockstar is the most leak-disciplined studio in the business. What's circulating right now is speculation, not a scoop.
