GTA 6: Why Xbox Players Might Play Before Everyone Else

As November 19, 2026 draws closer, the console war between PS5 and Xbox Series is picking up speed over potential early access. A classic trick is making rounds among fans once again: switching the console region to New Zealand to unlock the title ahead of schedule. On Xbox Series X|S, jumping time zones is as simple as tweaking a quick system setting. Over on PS5, the process is far more tedious, requiring a brand-new regional PlayStation Network account and buying the game with local currency. Of course, Rockstar Games could easily put an end to this by enforcing a synchronized global release time down to the minute. Even so, the Xbox community is holding out hope for a head start in Vice City before PlayStation players can jump in.
